Dry Walls...

...Dry Walls are an art. They are built with bricks made of stones and sheets. Sheets are made cutting the stones, using the only force in nature that can contrast them: the force of water, or best of ice. Many little holes are made along the stone and then filled up with water; during the night the water freezes and the ice cracks the stone that crumbles in sheets.Muretto a secco di Germagnano
 
Building a dry wall requires planning and art skills. And then, like for many other things, they come to life… In the forests dry walls may represent small lairs for rodents or other animals.

Dry walls are not always “dry”, but nowadays they can be held together by a particular binding agent similar to the mud used in ancient times.
